Every time I post about a hot Aussie startup, the comments ask the same thing: how do I buy in? Usually you can’t, because they’re private. These are the names that have talked about changing that. Not advice, and IPO dates slip all the time.
Firmus. The Nvidia-backed AI data centre company was the big one, priced at A$11 a share for an ASX float. Then on 9 October 2026, about two weeks out from listing, it pulled the IPO and said it would raise from private markets instead. So for now, no ASX listing.
Greencross. The pet-care group behind Petbarn has been preparing an ASX return, with TPG reportedly targeting a raise of at least A$700M. Timing hasn’t been confirmed, and a trade sale is still an option.
Canva. COO Cliff Obrecht told Capital Brief Canva is “fully IPO ready” and working towards a listing in 2027, once it finishes moving its pricing to AI credits. Where it lists hasn’t been confirmed, and most expect the US.
Rokt. Rokt has explored a dual listing on Nasdaq and the ASX under a single prospectus, a structure that reportedly still needs sign-off from both ASIC and the ASX.
Airwallex. CEO Jack Zhang said in January the company is “at least two years away” from listing and that it never planned to IPO this year or next. He also said it might not list at all.
How retail usually gets in
Most retail investors buy once a stock is trading, not at the IPO. For a US listing you’d need a broker with US market access.
My read
The Firmus pull shows how quickly these windows open and shut. I’d treat every date on this list as a maybe until a prospectus is lodged and the shares are trading.
