Most of the startups I cover are private, so you can’t own a piece unless you’re a VC or an angel. But some ANZ tech companies are already on the ASX. This is the list I shared, with what each one does. It is general information only, not financial advice. Do your own research.
DroneShield (ASX: DRO)
Sydney-built counter-drone technology. Its systems detect and defeat hostile drones, and they are sold to militaries and government agencies around the world. One of the most watched defence names on the market.
Ceretas (ASX: CTS)
Listed in July after an $8M raise. A Brisbane company using low intensity focused ultrasound, delivered through the skull, as a possible treatment for Alzheimer’s. One of the newest tech names on the ASX.
BrainChip (ASX: BRN)
Its Akida chip runs AI directly on a device, without sending data to the cloud. It is neuromorphic computing, a design inspired by how the brain processes information, so a sensor can make decisions on its own.
Archer Materials (ASX: AXE)
A rare quantum computing play on the ASX. Archer is developing a chip called the 12CQ, with the long term aim of quantum hardware small enough to sit inside everyday devices.
Xero (ASX: XRO)
The Kiwi accounting software company that is now one of the biggest tech companies on the ASX. Proof that an ANZ tech company can start small and go global.
My read
The point of this list is not to tell anyone what to buy. It is that the door is open. If you care about ANZ tech, some of it is already public, and you can read their announcements and reports just like the professionals do.
